Virtual Community Service – PaintFest 101
In a world where we are limiting our face-to-face socialization and many are working from home, the Foundation for Hospital Art is here to make sure you are able to give back to your community in a way that matters more than ever: making a positive impact on patients and healthcare workers in our hospitals.
In light of all of this, in addition to our two other painting options, we have announced our newest way you can paint, HeART Boards. HeART Boards are sets of six canvas boards with individually packaged materials for each board. They are each printed with one of twelve color-coded designs. You can choose between two different HeART Board kits, one designed to be given to healthcare workers in your community and the other is designed to be given to a patient currently receiving treatment or recovering in a hospital. When you receive the set of six canvases and supplies you can distribute the HeART Boards to six of your team members, family members, friends, volunteer partners, etc. The boards can be painted individually from anywhere. If you are not in the same location painting, we recommend setting up a video conference to paint your HeART Boards together. Once finished you will each give your completed HeART Board to a healthcare worker or patient in your community.
You can also paint virtually with our popular PaintFest Kits (six canvases) and with Patient Packs (four canvases). With these kits you can paint many different ways, but here are a few suggestions.
- The murals can be painted together in the same office while socially distanced and following you own company guidelines.
- They can be painted from your home with your family and those you are hunkered down with.
- The canvases can be separated and painted in multiple locations. A video conference can be set up and participants can paint their piece of the mural together from their homes.
In these times, those working and recovering in hospitals need our encouragement more than ever. A piece of art with colorful, recognizable images can bring joy and hope to a white and sterile environment. This is your chance to make a difference by brightening the lives and lifting the spirits of those on the front lines of this battle to defeat the pandemic.
