Art is Love Global PaintFest Event
On July 4th, 2013, the Foundation for Hospital Art will celebrate the compassion and impact of hospital art on the lives of patients in hospitals and healthcare facilities around the world.
The event will be hosted in 9 locations around the world with the intent that volunteers will come together and paint for a common cause – to champion the belief that art can make a difference in people and their recovery.
The centerpiece will be staged in Paris, France at the Palais de Tokyo. This historic museum of modern art could not be a better location to trumpet the healing aspects of art. The other eight locations include: Anchorage, Alaska (USA); Jasper, Georgia (USA); Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany; Aylesbury, United Kingdom; Santiago, Chile; Trichardtsdal, South Africa; Iwate, Japan; and St. Hubert’s Island, Australia.
The initial brushstroke was made on the first canvas on March 7th, 2013 at a nursing home in Atlanta, Georgia. Residents from a long-term care facility painted with thoughts of Paris in their hearts. The overall design, titled “Paris”, is a compilation of iconic Parisian images and personalities. Each of the locations will be painting one panel of the overall design.
We hope that you will follow our updates on Facebook and Twitter. Join us as we celebrate that Art can love! We will post pictures of the event and the completed painting.
Painting a brighter world,
